Xenses is Cancun’s strangest day out: part optical-illusion museum, part water park, part playful test of your balance and senses. The Mexican village facade seems to tilt uphill, dark corridors make you rely on touch, and the park keeps asking you to question what your eyes are telling you.

I like the easy round-trip transport and the fact that your admission bracelet can be issued on the bus. I also like the mix of dry and wet activities, especially the mud bath, lazy rivers, and photo-friendly illusion rooms.

The main drawback is size. You can see much of the park in a few hours, so the $114.99 price is easier to justify if you value the included transport and unusual setting. Pickup instructions also need careful attention.
