Spend a full day at Xcaret Park with shared transport from Cancun, swimming in underground rivers, seeing wildlife and Mayan sites, then watching Mexico Espectacular. Choose basic admission or Xcaret Plus for lunch, snorkeling equipment, and the Plus changing area.

“Wish the tour person on the bus could have told us there is beaches and swimming areas for family after the river. She told us to go explore other areas so we changed out to clothes from swimsuit to go checkout other areas. So hot and sticky so checkout areas in normal clothes. Then done in all areas in 3 hours. Ideally we could have stay at the swimming area. Go check out other places in between or toward the afternoon.”

“Very nice experience. A little confusing when tax and admission are listed as two different things. We spent a great deal of time figuring out that it was actially the same. A bit long stops in the heat. Great memorable day”

3.Tulum Day Trip Mayan Ruins and Cenote Swim

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 924 reviews · 8 hours (approx.) · from $79

Visit Tulum with a guide, then cool off at Cenote Puerta Maya, an open and partly cave-like swimming site. Expect about eight hours, hotel pickup in many Cancun-area zones, a 2-kilometer walk, and a mandatory MX$750 cash fee beyond the advertised price.

“I reserved on Thursday afternoon to be picked up on Friday at 9am. They didn't respond to messages via Viator or whatsapp on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. I waited for them for an hour before giving up. They finally sent me a message several hours after the pick up time, after I sent them many messages and I complained to Viator. I received a refund but wasted a day of my vacation.”

Travel from Cancun to Chichen Itza with guides such as Manuel, Beto, or Frank, then swim in Cenote Chichikan and walk Valladolid. Expect Mayan history, a tequila tasting, optional buffet lunch, early pickup, and a long but well-organized day.

“Paul was a great guide who was informative, funny and very personable. Santiago was our driver who got us there and back quickly and safely. The day trip was so much fun, the cenote was breathtaking and the buffet food was pretty good. It was cool to be blessed by a Mayan person in their language with smoke. Then, seeing the ruins was fantastic. Can't really put it into words. Finally, stopping at the colonial town was nice, but we didn't see much of it because we ran to get dinner in the 30 minutes we had stopped there.”

Ride from Cancun to Xplor Park for a self-guided day of jungle ziplines, cave rafting, underground swims, and amphibious vehicles. Your package includes transport, lockers, equipment, drinks, and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Bring water shoes, a swimsuit, and dry clothes.

“It’s an adventure park that gives off amusement park vibes. It’s completely self-guided and you choose the order of activities you want to do. I will say that sometimes lines are long or there are some activities that get too popular and are “full” so you probably won’t get to everything for the day. The zip lining requires a lot of walking up stairs. Water shoes are the most recommended shoe and a bathing suit with quick dry coverup clothing is also the best option because there isn’t a lot of time to keep changing in and out of wet clothes. It’s worth the money. We all had a very…”
